1. The short version
We collect only what is needed to build, host, and deliver your gift. We run no advertising trackers and no third-party analytics — no Google Analytics, no ad pixels, no data brokers. We have never sold personal data and never will.
2. What you give us
Gift content. The names, messages, notes, and photos you type or upload while making a gift. We store these so the gift can be generated and opened by the person you send it to.
Account details (optional). If you sign in, we store your email address so we can send you a six-digit sign-in code, plus a display name and an avatar image if you add one. You can use much of MemorySeal without an account, and a person who receives a gift is never asked to make one.
A reply, if one is written. If a recipient writes back through a gift, we store those words so they reach the sender.
3. What we never see
Payments are handled entirely by our payment partner. Your full card number, CVV, UPI PIN, and bank credentials are never sent to MemorySeal, never touch our servers, and are never stored by us.
4. What your device keeps (not us)
Unfinished gift drafts, your chosen colour tone, and one-time hint dismissals are saved in your own browser's local storage. They stay on your device, are not uploaded to us, and clearing your browser data removes them.
5. Analytics — one anonymous count
We record a single, anonymous event when someone who was given a gift chooses to make their own. It contains the event name and which deck it came from. It carries no name, no email, no identifier, and nothing that could be traced back to you.
Your IP address is checked momentarily to slow down abuse and spam, and is not saved to a profile or used to identify you.
6. Cookies
We use only the essential storage the site needs to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. We set no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
7. Who else processes your data
We rely on a small number of trusted providers, and only for the purpose named:
Supabase — database, file storage, and sign-in codes. Vercel — website hosting and delivery. Razorpay — payment processing for orders placed within India. Dodo Payments — merchant of record for orders placed outside India; as the seller of record for those sales it collects and holds the billing details, billing country and tax information needed to complete and invoice the purchase, under its own privacy policy. Our email provider — delivering your sign-in code.
These providers may store data on servers outside India. We share only what each one needs to do its job, and none of them are permitted to use your information for their own purposes.
8. How long we keep it
A gift and its content are kept for as long as the gift is live, so the recipient can reopen it. Account details are kept while your account exists. Ask us to delete something and we will remove it, keeping only what the law requires us to retain for a payment record.
9. Your rights
Write to us and you may ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it and close your account. We will respond within a reasonable time, and we will not charge you for asking.
10. Children
MemorySeal is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has sent us data, email us and we will remove it.
11. Changes & contact
If this policy changes in a way that materially affects you, the change will appear on this page with a new date above. For anything at all — a question, a correction, a deletion request — write to support@thememoryseal.com.
